Something that became obvious during the whole house moving thing was that I own a lot of books. I mean, I knew I had a lot, but when they starting filling box after box after box I realised that I have more than just “a lot”. Especially history books. If you want to read a biography about someone who’s been dead for over a hundred years then I’m your girl. In that category there are a lot of books that I bought purely for research purposes for writing and haven’t picked up since. Now acutely aware that storage is not infinite, last week I did something I’ve been meaning to do for a while: I joined the library. 🙂

I did say goodbye to a fair few when we unpacked all those boxes, though not nearly as many as my husband would have liked!

I’m new to Wales, and haven’t yet visited the library in Cardiff. It looks like quite a building!!

I know they did a big overhaul of the layout inside last year when it went from being “just” a library to being a hub. That’s when they added the council services and what have you. I just finishing a PhD on libraries at Cardiff Uni and have spent a looooong time in Cardiff Central over the past few years! I particularly love how you can see to the tree covered hills outside Cardiff from the top.
