Last Saturday the hubs and I took a trip down to the BBT (the “Big Blue Tent”) down the Bay to watch the ice hockey. The last ice hockey game we saw was when we were on honeymoon in Florida (Yes, in Florida… air conditioning does marvellous things…) and watched the Everblades play… Someone. I can’t remember who. Anyway, it was such a great night that we vowed to go to a game back in the UK.
I wasn’t really sure what to expect when we pulled up in the carpack in the tipping rain (OMG fellow Welshies, will the rain ever end???). The BBT is temporary in every sense of the word – blue canvas, wooden bleachers, tin foil to insulate the roof – but the fans are anything but. It was a sell-out night, and the atmosphere was electric from start to finish; from the rallying chorus of Mae Hen Wlad fy Nhadau (…oh how I missed you!) to the celebratory Bownsy Wave at the end.
