Wenallt Wood Walk

  

A break in the Welsh drizzle (…yes, alright, downpours would be more accurate…) means a muddy walk through the woods 🙂

Just on the other side of the M4 there’s a path leading up the hill and through the woods. The deeper you adventure the more distant the sound of the M4 becomes until eventually all you can hear are the birds and occasional snap of a twig under foot.

We found lots of Coprinellus Micaceus (Glistening Ink Cap) mushrooms were growing – despite being a couple of months out of season…

…and signs of life sprouting through the leaf mulch…
