This, my friends, is the Liebster Award. A tag designed to connect bloggers with new and interesting blogs. I was nominated by the lovely Nina over at Words by Nina – thanks! 🙂
⇾ Who would you invite to your fantasy dinner party, living or dead?
This changes all the time, and I’ve got a whole other list for my historical fantasy dinner party – but right now…? Miss Piggy (always), Dawn French & Jen Saunders, Richard Ayoade (Who would probably end up leaving early because he’d get fed up with me quoting IT Crowd all evening…), Bear Grylls (as long as he’s not fussed about having jelly and ice cream instead of insects for afters) and James Cordon.
⇾ What’s your favourite thing about having a blog?
It’s one of the only things that ties together all my creative loves – Writing, Photography, Cooking… It’s nice to have something that’s full of things that are 100% me 🙂
⇾ What advice would you give your younger self?
Ignore the voice in your head that says “No” and “You can’t” (Exception: Except while on the cusp of buying silver space stilettos (see Question 10) – that was one occasion when you should have listened to it, but didn’t…).
⇾ What is your pet hate?
People who don’t indicate properly on roundabouts (or don’t indicate at all, for that matter… Grrr!). I love driving, but I’m an angry, impatient driver (I blame driving in London…); drivers who keep me waiting or expect me to read their mind can expect to feel my wrath and see all sorts of creative hand signals. 🙂
⇾ What one thing could you not live without?
Music.
⇾ Who do you look up to, and why?
The hubs. He’s a true gent; I’ve never met anyone so willing to go out of their way to do the right thing for others, from holding a door open to giving honest advice to those in need. He’s a good guy.
⇾ What’s the best trip you’ve ever been on?
There are two that I just can’t choose between. One; the Arizona road trip I took with my family a few years back (we went horseback riding through the desert like something out of an old Ford Western, saw the Grand Canyon and ate Huevos Rancheros for breakfast). Two; the post-honeymoon trip Sunny and I took to Iceland (we got lucky because we went there during the Solar Maximum and managed to see the Northern Lights, which was incredible).
⇾ If you won the lottery, what self-indulgent purchase would you make?
Does travel count? Because my first big spend would definitely be to tick off a few places from my wanderlist. I’d either be on the first plane to Japan, or heading back up north to Iceland to start a Scandinavian Adventure.
⇾ If you could have one magical power, what would it be?
To be able to speak every language. I think it would probably take a little magic and mystery out of the world, but still, I’d love to be multilingual and be able to talk to anyone anywhere. 🙂
⇾ What’s the worst fashion mistake you’ve ever made?
I once bought silver knee high boots in the sales. Yeah… they were in the sale for a reason. I never wore them. Not once. I have no idea what was going through my mind at the time… probably not much. That’s definitely the worst mistake, but there are plenty of runner-ups, oy…
⇾ What’s your guilty pleasure?
Buttered rich tea biscuits. And, seeing as we’re all friends here… I bought a 12 pack of Creme Eggs the other week for Sunny and I to “share”. I ate nine in the space of three days… which is only like, three a day, so… yeah.
Now to share the love. I’m nominating these lovely ladies:
→ Sarah of Moon and Forest
→ Hannah of Written by H
→ Chloe of Coco Chats
→ Steph of Oh Steph
And the all important Questions:
- You’re on death row (…oh don’t give me that look, you know exactly what you did!) – what would you pick for your last ever meal?
- Which three words describe you best?
- What made you decide to start your own blog?
- Here’s a Free Travel Pass to anywhere you want in the world. Where do you want to go, and why?
- What’s the most important lesson/piece of advice you’ve learned from blogging so far?
- For whatever reason, you have to bury three of your most treasured personal possessions for safe keeping. What are they, and why?
- Describe the worst job you ever had.
- What’s your favourite memory?
- Who inspires you, and why?
- Describe your perfect Sunday.
- Name a Book/Movie/TV show that everyone needs to know about.

Loved reading your answers. I would pay good money to be at that dinner party! Miss Piggy ROCKS.

I’d have all the Muppets if I could – but Miss Piggy first and foremost. 🙂

I’d love to be able to speak every language! I keep trying to learn but there are so many I want to try that I can’t seem to find the dedication for just one.

I get a kick out of learning some words and phrases before visiting a new place – but once I’ve been and gone I forget it all and never bother sticking it at it. It would be nice to just have it all there in the first place! 🙂
