Street Food Circus Cardiff

Last weekend our phone line went down (oh the horror!), which would mean no internet for a whole week – not that we knew that at the time.  Yeah, we whinged about it (a lot) and knocked our heads against the wall when not being able to catch up on Netflix or Google a random, burning question got a lil’ bit too much – but at least it got us out of the house, and to Cardiff’s Street Food Circus.

Tucked away in a quiet corner of Sophia Gardens (next to the temporary National Express station), you can’t miss the colourful tents, rainbow streamers, umbrellas and fairy lights.  And if you happen to be colour-blind then, don’t worry, the smell of meat grilling, spices burning and donuts frying’s sure to get you. 😉

Be sure to go with an empty stomach and plenty of cash (cards aren’t accepted, and you don’t want to have to walk all the way to the petrol station on Cathedral Road and miss out on all important feeding time in the process, right?).  Most dishes are around £5 and there’s something to suit everyone; from ice cream and donuts, to paella and pizza.  But in particular, be sure to stop by The Bearded Taco for one of their “Rage Against the Tagine” tacos.

Don’t leave without getting “The Golden Ticket” from the Early Bird.  A cup full o’donut balls, baked apples, salted caramel sauce and candied walnuts.  YUM.

The Street Food Circus runs every Thursday to Sunday until the 25th of September – so be sure to drop by before it packs up and disappears!
