It’s finally scarf weather! If you caught my Instagram Stories a few weeks back then you’ll have seen my excitement at bringing down my towering bundle of scarfs from the top of my wardrobe – and this silky teal green scarf is one of my absolute faves. This time of year I feel like the clothing colour palette is so geared towards hot reds, oranges, mustards, maroons – all the colours that tend to wash my Daz White skin out! Don’t get me wrong, I’ve got a mustard jumper that I’m very attached to – but teal green ticks all the boxes for me and my pale, cool-shades-loving tones. And actually, it goes really, really with mustard too. 🙂
Did anyone do #NoSpendOctober? I did it without even thinking about it (thanks flu!) and then officially jumped on the bandwagon at the end of the month. I’ve been trying to get more use out of the clothes I’ve got hanging in my wardrobe recently anyway and have tried coming up with new outfits from what I’ve already got rather than cramming more impulse purchases into my already packed (and kind messy!) cupboards. I think I’m going to keep going with it and see where it takes me.
What are your favourite colours to wear this time of year? 🙂
I can list on one hand the things that make me happy. Some of them are those small every day mood-improvers – the little things – and others are much, much bigger, can’t live without things and people. 1. Good (bad) food. 2. Fresh Flowers. 3. Writing. 4. Music. And, 5. My Family. Of course each of those things can be broken down even further (I mean, the subcategory of what kinds of food make me happy is absolutely fricking ENORMOUS), and obviously there are other things in life that make me happy, but the above are my five great loves in terms of my day to day happiness.
Here’s another thing that’s a little further down the list; T Shirts. I don’t know why the hell I’ve gone and bought another one – I’ve got a whole heap of them – but every time I wear them they seem to bring a smile to my face so I’m rolling with it. I picked up this new addition in H&M recently; I love the bold, bright text and of course the word itself; JOYEUX, which means Happy. And sometimes that just means wearing jeans and t shirt and dancing around in your kitchen with your dog 🙂
Happy Monday! What little things make you feel joyeux? 🙂
If you’re wondering what I’m looking at, I’m cringing at the great big dustbin truck headed my way and the bin men inside who’ve just clocked what I’m up to. They gave me a thumbs up in the end as they passed, so it’s all good. Anywho, this is a bit different to normal programming, innit? Up until now I’ve only really dipped my toes into fashion blogging, even though the truth is I’m huge fan. I’ve fancied doing some outfit posts for a while and one very breezy August afternoon I plucked up the courage to take my camera to secluded spot in Cardiff and take some pictures. (…Well, Google Maps made me think that it was secluded but it actually ended up being really busy! White van men, bin men, old ladies, cuddly toy… you name it, it ended up walking past me.)
These wide leg trousers have to be my biggest bargain of the summer sales, if not EVER. I’d never have picked them out normally, but they were £5 in the Marks and Spencer’s sale. I tried them on and totally fell in love with them. They’re so comfy and could be worn up with a camisole and heels, or worn down with a t shirt. And with polka dots a firm fave for the new season I’ll be wearing them all winter. 🙂
The animal print bag was a cheapo find in T K Maxx (God, I love that shop!) and can be worn as a clutch or with the added strap. I’m not normally into animal prints but I thought this would be a fun Autumn/Winter bag to brighten up all the black and grey I’ll probably be wearing.
