There’s something really special about getting up after a long lie, whacking the kettle on and then taking a bit of time to put together something you wouldn’t normally have time to scoff on a weekday morning. M&S got in touch recently and asked if I’d like to try baking with some of their berries. This plum cake is incredibly simple to make and turned out so well when I served it up at a recent barbecue that I made it again a few days later. 🙂
It’s too hot for birthday cake, so I made this Piña Colada flavoured Pavlova, complete with pineapple curd, coconut cream and a healthy splash of rum.
Whenever I see lavender flavoured things I get Kimmy Schmidt in my head protesting that “Lavender isn’t a flavour, it’s a smell!!!” And that’s true, you’re more likely to find lavender in my face cream than in my kitchen. But you know what? I kind of like it. 💜
